The technical parameters offered by the 5G network make it possible to ensure optimal quality of electronic communication between plants with a level of assurance that until now was possible to achieve within one plant or a specifically configured VPN network. This specification allows to achieve the guaranteed quality also for wireless connections. Thanks to this, automation can turn into robotization not only within one plant, but also within a network of plants, where it can be used to manage all production, technological and business processes in real time. Thus, it becomes possible to create a network of enterprises in which machines, applications and systems communicate with each other without human intervention. Digital distributed manufacturing is becoming a technological reality, for which we do not have the appropriate legal framework, and thus we lack business models, on the basis of which such cooperation could be based. Therefore, the question about business models is much deeper and fundamental than it may seem at first glance. In this part, we would like to initiate a discussion whereby entrepreneurs and business law makers can propose solutions that will support 5G network investment and horizontal integration of plants with appropriate business models.
