Industry network architecture
Introduction Jarosław Tworóg – Vice-president, KIGEiT
Introduction Intelligent Automation and its Impact on Digital Economy Standardization
Damian Kędziora – Postdoctoral Researcher HUMLOG Institute, Helsinki, Hanken School of Economics
Moderator Jarosław Tworóg – Vice-president, KIGEiT

Teresa Sosnowska – Wiceprezes Zarządu, PKN

The need to establish a single European concept of industrial network architecture results from the fact that 5G is not the next stage in the evolution of telecommunications norms and standards. These are services for the progressive digitization of companies and industry 4.0, with the parameters described in IMT-2020. Architecture is a response to the expectations of the B2B market. The 5G specification expresses the view that rapidly growing market expectations cannot be met without smarter management of network resources. The investments will be based on the assumption that the growing needs related to increasing data transmission should use 5G technology to more effectively use existing network and hardware resources. It is required to build such an architecture that will allow to provide dedicated services very quickly where they are demanded regardless of their type, i.e. URLLC (ultra reliable low latency mobile communications) and mMTC (massive machine type communications).

The new architecture should have a geographical and logical development path for at least 20 years. It must also take into account that in industry, logistics and transport as well as in office buildings wired and wireless communication has already been established, fulfils its task and can be used more effectively. The architecture should provide regular 2G / 3G / LTE mobile data transmission where full coverage is important. It will serve intelligent and dynamic allocation of network resources in proportion to the resources and client profiles supported, including e.g. LPWAN (Low-Power Wide-Area Network), NarrowBand IoT mMRC or traditional Wi-Fi. The possibilities for making better use of existing resources are impressive. They are used for rapid digitization of workstations in offices, warehouses, manufacturing plants as well as in the field.

We want to discuss the most important issues related to the development of network architecture enabling the preparation of a technologically ne and secure proposal for business and B2B cooperation networks.

Currently is a part of Huawei family, joining to Poland Wireless Network Solution Sales Department, before acting in CEE&Nordic Regional Office, focusing on 5G End to End. Previously his career was connected with Orange Poland. The last position in Orange was Mobile Technologies Strategy Agency Manager focusing on technology strategy related to 5G and IoT, before Programme Director responsible for strategic analyses delivery on CxO level (COO organization) and previously Wireless Access Development Director in Orange Poland (former Orange Labs Poland). His main responsibilities are service development, RAN features (SW and HW) testing processes, trial preparation (Femto, Small Cell, LTE, ect.), device validation and EMF and Antennas system analyses and evaluation. Moreover, he takes care of consolidated network (common network of Orange Poland and T-mobile Poland) laboratory environment and actively takes part in frequency strategy preparation and evaluation processes.
Aleksander Jakubczak started his professional career as System Operator and then New Technologies & Services Engineer in OSP Polpager (currently Sferia, part of Polkomtel Group). He joined Orange Poland (PTK Centertel) in 2005 and since then has occupied several other posts: Program Manager, Architecture & Technology Development Agency Manager and Strategy & Technology Development Agency Manager, where he was responsible for defining technical branch strategy and solutions, managing analyses and multi-domain projects and programs in the area of new technologies introduction (i.e. UMA, CDMA, Femtocells, DVB-H, LTE etc.). He was also one of the pioneers in Poland in defining technical needs and requirements regarding CDMA EVDO Rev. A trials and commercial deployment in 850 and 450 bands. Aleksander Jakubczak obtained his Master degree in Telecommunications from Warsaw University of Technology, Poland. Afterwards he graduated from postgraduate studies on Warsaw School of Economics with Management as the field of study and accomplished Telecoms Mini MBA by Informa Telecoms & Media in Dubai, UAE.
