Sławomir Cieśliński

Born in 1951 on the seaside but for 60 years he has been living in Warsaw. Graduate of History at the University of Warsaw.
Due to his maritime interests he had worked for many years as journalist and publisher in “MORZE” magazine and as advisor to the Minister of Maritime Economy. After 1989 he held executive posts in Polish and foreign companies active in media, advertising and print industry (e.g. Polish Television, representative of Bertelsmann in Poland, “Europlakat Polska” ,“RUCH” S.A.).
He was one of the founders and later in 1999-2001 the President of ELKART Systemy Kart Elektronicznych.
Since 2001 he has organized „KARTA” Conference (since 2008 under the name „Central European Electronic Card”, since 2017 – „Central European Digital Payments”), and since 2006 – conference series „Polish Cards and Systems”. In 2011, together with Institute of Mathematical Machines he launched the Polish Interoperability Test for Electronic Signature (this event was renamed to CommonSign Warsaw in 2012). In 2014 Medien Service launched Digital Money & Blockchain Forum.
He is a founding member of Bank Technology Forum (launched 2004), a body of Polish Bank Association.
Since 2009 Medien Service is also the editor of Polish Cards Almanac.

Medien Service Sławomir Cieśliński (established in 1990) is a member of Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications. Sławomir Cieśliński is now a Vice Chairman of the Committee FinTech and the Committee SMART. ,He is a member of Polish Information Processing Society Association, Software Providers for Medical Market, Chamber of Polish Medical Information Technology. It is also from 2015. member of the Presidium of the Coalition for Cashless Trading and Micropayments.

As the owner of Medien Service he works on promoting non-cash trade, e-commerce, e-administration and e-health care. He also lobbies for common sense.
During the XII Congress of Electronic Economy, he was awarded the “Ambassador of Electronic Economy 2016” award and in October 2019 the medal “For services to the Development of the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management” of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.

Master graduate of the Faculty of Computer Science and Management of Wroclaw University of Technology and the Executive MBA program at Kozminski University in Warsaw. Participant of management programs conducted by Insead in France and the London School of Economics in the UK. Founder and President of his own software manufacturing company. He further developed his career in SAP Poland where he served, among others, as Consulting Director and Vice President of the Board.
