30 years after the change of the political and economic system in Poland, our country has fundamentally transformed its finance and payment sector. As a result, Poland is currently one of the leaders in this domain, both in Europe and around the world. It is largely due to the implementation of new technologies and IT tools. However, maintaining the leading position requires defining the challenges of the new decade and finding possible solutions. In this context, it becomes particularly important to address the following issues:

  • impact of the 5G network on the banking sector and payment technologies
  • the balance between customer convenience and financial system security
  • open banking – what’s next?
  • profitability of the banking sector in face of fintech competition.
