30 years after the change of the political and economic system in Poland, our country has fundamentally transformed its finance and payment sector. As a result, Poland is currently one of the leaders in this domain, both in Europe and around the world. It is largely due to the implementation of new technologies and IT tools. However, maintaining the leading position requires defining the challenges of the new decade and finding possible solutions. In this context, it becomes particularly important to address the following issues:

Director of a department of the payment system at the National Bank of Poland. The Graduate of the economics faculty of the Warsaw University. From1987 is working at the National Bank of Poland: 1987-1992 at the Department of Analyses and Forecasts Economic/department of Analyses and Examinations, 1992-1998 the head of a department of Accounts of Banks, from 1998 – the head of a department of the payment system and the secretary of the Council for payment system.

Janusz Diemko
Over 2016-17 he was CEO of Polskie ePłatności S.A. a Polish acquirer, that was 75% acquired by Innova Capital a CEE VC / PE fund – which he was advising. In 2018 he was a supervisory board member, and in 2091 Chairman of the Supervisory Board member of PayLane S.A. the Ecommerce subsidiary of Polskie ePłatności S.A..
He has over 24 years experience in the payments industry. In 2015 and since 2019 he has provided payment consulting and advisory services, working on M&A projects, financing support and strategic and market analyses.
Since 2005 he has been a supervisory Board Member of Ipopema Securities, and since 2018 holds supervisory Board positions in Storic / IQ Partners. Since 2014 he has been a Partner / Investor in Hedgehog Angel Fund investing in early stage ecommerce and ICT businesses in Poland.
From 2006-14 he was President of the Executive Board at First Data Polska. He has managed the acquisition process of Polcard by G-Tech/Innova Capital to First Data, subsequent integration of the company into the global organization. He was also Regional Director for Germany and Austria, and previously Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
From 2006-14 and 2017-19 he was Chairman of Committee of Polish Acquirers under the auspices of the Association of Polish Banks and was a member of the Payment System Committee at the National Bank of Poland.
From 1998 to 2006 he was employed at Euronet both in Poland and EMEA, changing positions every two years; Finance Director Poland, Managing Director of Euronet Polska, M&A Director for EMEA and Market Development Manager (Russia, Ukraine and Baltic states).
Born and educated in the UK – he graduated in Geography at University College London, qualified as a chartered accountant (ACA) and is a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers ACT.

Marcin Chruściel has an international experience and achievements in the area of retail banking and payments especially in retail banking focusing on cards, sales and product development, M&A processes and start-ups – gained in large foreign and domestic banks, such as: PKO BP, Raiffeisen Bank Polska SA, Polbank EFG (EFG Eurobank Ergasias SA), and Bank Austria Creditanstalt. Since March 2017 joined Orange to manage & develop mobile banking services for its customers. He is also the Chairman of the FinTech Committee at the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications (PIIT). During his residence the first report on the Blockchain market in Poland was published under the auspices of PIIT. Additionally actively supports and develops cooperation with FinTech’s Orange Fab. He is former member of the Presidium of the Council of Bank Card Publishers at the Polish Bank Association.

Michał Polasik
Michał Polasik is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland and head of the Centre for Digital Economy and Finance NCU. He is the author of over seventy academic publications on retail payments and digital finance.
In 2016 he was awarded the Prof. Remigiusz Kaszubski Award founded by the Board of the Polish Bank Association in the category research activity for his research on the Polish payment system.
He has been the head of several large research projects, e.g., pan-European study ‘PayTech Impact.EU’ (http://paytech.umk.pl) financed by NCN, and many of other research & development projects in the field of payment innovations, payment system, e-commerce, and cryptocurrencies.
He is the founder of the POLASIK Reseach – research and consultancy company – and the co-founder and CEO of the spin-off Technology For Mobile Ltd., which aims to commercialise the scientific findings of the NCU in the area of financial innovations.
