Born in 1951 on the seaside but for 60 years he has been living in Warsaw. Graduate of History at the University of Warsaw.
Due to his maritime interests he had worked for many years as journalist and publisher in “MORZE” magazine and as advisor to the Minister of Maritime Economy. After 1989 he held executive posts in Polish and foreign companies active in media, advertising and print industry (e.g. Polish Television, representative of Bertelsmann in Poland, “Europlakat Polska” ,“RUCH” S.A.).
He was one of the founders and later in 1999-2001 the President of ELKART Systemy Kart Elektronicznych.
Since 2001 he has organized „KARTA” Conference (since 2008 under the name „Central European Electronic Card”, since 2017 – „Central European Digital Payments”), and since 2006 – conference series „Polish Cards and Systems”. In 2011, together with Institute of Mathematical Machines he launched the Polish Interoperability Test for Electronic Signature (this event was renamed to CommonSign Warsaw in 2012). Medien Service Sławomir Cieśliński (established in 1990) is a member of Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications.
